Have you ever asked yourself, "What the fuck?" We at Long Shot Books have found ourselves asking ourselves (and each other) that for some time, now. If you're looking for the answers, we don't have them, but we do have plenty of questions. (Namely, "What the shit?" Or, for our young readers, "What the heck?")
Here are some answers that we do have. Long Shot Books is a limited liability company founded on 04/13/2018 by Maureen Crowley and Todd Crawford. The name was decided on a coin toss between "Long Shit Books" and "Hot Seat Books" but unfortunately, due to a typo in the registration process, we wound up as Long Shot Books. Maureen Crowley is a Level 43 Elf with metal-forging capabilities. Todd is a bully. Less importantly, they graduated from Clarion University with a Bachelors of Science in Communication and Todd dropped out. They decided to start a publishing company because they thought it would be nice to be on the other end of rejection for once. They have also picked up the habit of writing in the third person halfway through this paragraph. For real, though, we plan on holding an annual double-blind fiction novel contest and helping bad authors release good books. We may not be the brightest in the game, but we're smart enough to know that much.
Good enough.
